"Dear Monica, I’m sorry you are feeling deceived. You called us asking for a price to replace your air conditioner; All Zone then send out a comfort specialist. (salesman) If you wanted a repair, we would have sent out a repair technician. That being said, the verbal quote we gave you was a compete change out for $6800 without going to your home to look at your situation. Matt then came to your house to talk and review your needs at which point he sent you a quote for $2,800 to replace the condensing unit. The difference between your job and your friends’ job was a conversion kit to take you’re A/C from R22-to 410A refrigerant. We must flush the old refrigerant out with X-11 and refill new 410A freon for $400 difference with the conversion kit. Your friend was happy enough with our service to recommend us to you and I’m sorry we didn’t live up to their expectations of us and we apologize for that. Also, we are not a friend or a random guy off a truck; we are a fully licensed and insured company with many employees. If we sent out a tech guy to look at unit and found it to be a bad capacitor the price would be $150 for the 1st hour plus parts and any freon you may need. So, your bill with us would have probably been $450. Slightly cheaper than McAllister who you had an issue with and an actual tech guy there. Again Monica I’m sorry if you feel deceived that is never our intention however as a curtesy I would like to tell you that next year you will need more freon because you have a leak somewhere and will likely have to replace your equipment especially an R-22 unit that has been discontinued for many years.
